NIC Instruments Ltd has an exceptionally versatile production unit. All stages of design and manufacture are carried out.

Qualified mechanical engineers, with a wealth of experience across medical, visual search and anti terrorist equipment develop concepts with computer generated solid modelling. This drastically reduces leadtimes. Once a design is finalised and prototypes proved, full production begins. All stages are carefully analysed, and documented in line with our ISO 9001 approval.

Eight Computer controlled machine tools are backed up by a coordinate measuring machine, which can measure to 0.003mm. All machine tools are able to import design files from the solid modelling which facilitates fast development times.

There are extensive sheet metal facilities, the in house tool room allows us to manufacture all jigs, fixtures and mould tools, injection moulding of plastics is done on site and parts are even plated in our own unit.

The highly skilled assembly department bring the parts together into finished products. Decades of surgical instrument manufacture have provided a wealth of skills, which produce search and EOD equipment of the highest calibre.

Finally, finished instruments pass though quality control for final inspection. NIC is accredited with ISO 9001 for the design and manufacture of security equipment, reinforcing our goal to be market leaders in this section of industry.
